Malate Church

Our lady of Remedies Parish, also well known as Malate church. It is a Roman catholic parish church dedicated to Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, the patroness of childbirth, whose statue was brought from Spain in 1624.
It is located in Malate, Manila, fronting Rajah Sulayman Park; Surrounded by Remedios Street, San Andres Street (sides), Mabini Street (rear), and MH Del Pilar Street (front).

The church was used by British troops in 1762 as their rear-guard protection in the capture of Manila.

The church was also severely damaged by earthquake on June 3, 1863 and was later rebuilt.

During battle for Manila in February 3 to 17, 1945, the church was burned down; priests and thousand of parishioners were victims of the atrocities of Japanese imperial forces and American shelling.
