Cagsawa Ruin

Cagsawa Ruin is what's left of an 18th-century church. It was built in 1720s, but was ruined caused by the worst eruption of Mayon volcano and buried by lava from the Mayon Volcano in 19th century.
The ruin is in Cagsawa, Daraga, Albay, about 15km from the peak of Mayon volcano. Cagsawa ruin is one of the most popular destination in the province of Albay, because of majestic view of Mayon Volcano from there is perfect.

Mayon Volcano is a famous volcano for its perfect cone shape peak. All-Terrain-vehicle ride tour is also available in the area.

How to get to Cagsawa Ruins? The ruin is about 9km from Legaspi City, you can reach the area by riding a jeepney from Legaspi City. Just ask the driver to drop you of the street going to Cagsawa Ruin. Once you’re on that street, you can walk or just ride a tricycle; the area is about 500 to 600 meters away from the highway.
